Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin)

Patchouli is a strongly scented oil favoring the earthy, woodsy, spicy, smoky, rich scents that have been steam distilled from the plant leaves.  This product is available in a 15 mL amber glass euro bottle.

All Wellness Warrior essential oils are organic.

Patchouli is a well-rounded oil that has so many different uses!  It can be used as a perfume and is found in scented products such as paper towels, laundry detergents, and air fresheners.  It can also be used as an all-purpose insect repellent and claimed to repel the Formosan subterranean termite.  Bring a little love to your bedroom! Patchouli has been effective against sexual problems including disinterest in sex, erectile dysfunction, frigidity, impotence, loss of libido, and sexual anxiety (stimulates estrogen and testosterone). Patchouli protects wounds and ulcers from becoming more serious (septic).  Patchouli alcohol (a constituent of patchouli) has neuroprotective, anti-influenza, and anti-inflammatory activities.  Use for skin imperfections; it is effective at removing skin blemishes from acne, pox, and measles.

Anti-arthritic, antibacterial, anti-cancer (against colorectal cancer cells), antidepressant, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-influenza, antimicrobial (strong), antiphlogistic (when inflammation is due to fever), antiseptic, aphrodisiac, astringent, cicatrisant (skin healing, wound healing, cell regeneration), cytopylactic (the oils stimulate the generation of new cells, which will aid in preserving the health of the skin), deodorant, diuretic, febrifuge, fungicide, insecticide, insecticidal, neuroprotective, sedative, and tonic.

Aromatic – Add 3-4 drops of oil to distilled water and diffuse; inhale directly by cupping your hands around an open bottle and breathe in deeply through your nose.

Topical – Directly apply 1-3 drops of oil to the area of concern or to reflex points (this oil can be applied “neat” with no dilution, or dilute using a carrier oil for people with sensitive skin).

Internal – Place 1-2 drops of oil under the tongue.

Oral - Apply directly in the mouth to the area of concern using a finger.

Children – Safe for children with proper dilution.  Please refer to our Wellness Warrior Essential Oil Dosing Guide.

As with all essential oils, it is important to test a small area for skin sensitivity before applying without a carrier oil.  Wellness Warrior suggests diluting essential oils with a vegetable-based carrier oil, such as raw coconut or jojoba oil.  Patchouli has no known side effects but it is recommended to use with caution during pregnancy.
